Expanding Resources to Meet Growing Needs

The decision to transfer these vital programs reflects the alarming rise in food insecurity within Allen County, where over 3,000 residents, including 1,000 children, are currently facing this challenge. True Gospel Fellowship Church and its dedicated volunteers recognized the urgent need for expanded resources, prompting the shift to Scottsville Church of Christ, which will now oversee the distribution of TEFAP and CSFP, in addition to managing its existing food pantry.

Fostering Collaboration and Continuity

This transition represents a collaborative effort between FAKH, True Gospel Fellowship Church, and Scottsville Church of Christ, all working together to ensure the seamless continuation of these essential food assistance programs. The move not only acknowledges the growing demand for support but also highlights the commitment of these organizations to adapt and evolve their strategies to better serve the community.

Celebrating 25 Years of Dedication

In recognition of True Gospel Fellowship Church's 25 years of tireless work and dedication in addressing hunger in the region, FAKH presented the church with the prestigious Golden Plate Award. This accolade serves as a testament to the exceptional commitment and impact the church has had in alleviating food insecurity throughout Kentucky's Heartland.

Scottsville Church of Christ: A Beacon of Hope

As Scottsville Church of Christ takes the helm of these critical programs, the community can expect a renewed sense of enthusiasm and dedication to serving those in need. The church's unwavering commitment to addressing hunger will undoubtedly continue to make a significant difference in the lives of Allen County residents.

Empowering the Community through Collaboration

The partnership between FAKH, True Gospel Fellowship Church, and Scottsville Church of Christ exemplifies the power of collaboration in tackling complex social issues. By working together, these organizations are able to leverage their respective strengths, resources, and expertise to create a more comprehensive and effective approach to combating food insecurity in the region.

Ensuring Continued Access to Essential Resources

FAKH will continue to play a vital role in this transition, hosting mobile TEFAP distributions at the Scottsville Church of Christ parking lot throughout July and August. Starting in September, the church will officially take over the TEFAP distributions, ensuring that local residents continue to have access to these essential food assistance programs.

A Shared Vision for a Hunger-Free Future

Charles Dennis, the Executive Director of FAKH, expressed his gratitude to True Gospel Fellowship Church for their unwavering commitment and dedication over the past 25 years. As the organization looks to the future, it is excited to expand its partnership with Scottsville Church of Christ, whose enthusiasm and dedication to serving those in need will undoubtedly continue to make a significant impact in Allen County.
